Don’t let the picture fool you. I’m alive and finished, but it was not pretty. Minutes before and after this pic I was sitting with my head between my knees wondering why I do this to myself, praying that I would finally be able to hurl, praying I wouldn’t hurl …wanting nothing more than a shower and my bed.
The real heroes here are my friends Alicia and Darlena who completed their first half-marathons—training through their husbands’ deployments, juggling kids and responsibilities—realizing in those sweet minutes after completing 13.1 miles that they are stronger than they ever believed themselves to be. That’s why I’m smiling—to celebrate these two amazing women who live on my street and chose to share their lives with us. Love you gals—WAY TO GO!
Love you too!!! Thanks for being such a great inspiration Sue 🙂
oy , yoy , yoy glad to see you all are fine
I’m so impressed by your many halfs! I was excited that I did 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym yesterday, until I realized it was calculating kilometers. Ugh.
Someday I’d love to run one together. 🙂
Wow. You are three amazing women!
