I squeezed the last drops out of both the shampoo and conditioner yesterday…it’s the beginning of the end. Two loads of books, clothes, games, and toys left for Goodwill this morning. The carrier of the first overseas shipment contacted us before lunch with the preliminary information. The cable and internet cut-off date was ordered. My office and its closet are nearly pristine (a post coming on this next week), a sign that it is almost time to move.
Usually, we try to concoct the most difficult, hair-brained way of getting from A to B, preferably with plenty of crossed paths, double-backs, and if possible, a good stomach bug for the car ride.
Case in point: How we moved from California to Virginia in just 31 days.
This time, we had a similar, fly over the nation/drive hither and yon a few times plan; however, due to rising intelligence and gas prices, we have altered our original plan. Simplified it even. THIS time, I am going to finish my half-marathon a couple weeks BEFORE we are in transit. Lord willing, everything will be packed into its separate containers and picked up by the last week of March. Then, we will drive to Oklahoma to see family for a bit, before Matt tags out to return to his ship (his ship is underway for most of April, May, and the first half of June) and my Dad tags in to help us drive the rest of the way to Arizona. The kids and I will stay in Arizona to finish school and work. When Matt checks out mid-June, he will fly out to Arizona to meet us. Then we will make our connections in LA or Seattle to fly to Japan.
I have a feeling that the thirty-one days in March are going to feel more like five. I think I need a nap.
