The night before we left for Richmond during Hurricane Irene, a couple of neighbors’ husbands came over and stood with me in the yard considering the feat of taking down the trampoline. This double-bed, pre-galvanized steel framed trampoline is as heavy as a small car and the net alone takes five hours to get up. We pushed Big Bessie Green away from the house, and then my neighbor Issac got out the straps which he ratcheted down with the help of our neighbor Ron. Isn’t it beautiful? Neighbors came from all over in the alley to see their handiwork. If Irene had even thought about lifting this trampoline, the entire fence would have ripped out across three yards and been carried away. Some might say I am being overly sentimental about a trampoline, but with four kids and a small yard, this thing is GOLD. I was able to drive away in peace. Well, relative peace…
