As you may have noticed, the blog has had a little makeover. I moved to a self-hosted site and made a few other changes (when I say few, please know that I mean about forty-five things and all of them are out of my knowledge bank and comfort zone. I said to Matt the other day, “I need to figure out how to add a recaptcha widget to my hyper direct plugin.” To which he replied, “I know not what you seek.” I’ve been super fun to live with the last couple weeks.) If you have my old site bookmarked, it will still route you here for a bit, but if you can bookmark this one instead, you’ll always be able to find me.  (If you used to receive my posts via email from WordPress, that option did not carry over– I’m so sorry! I’m working on an alternative.)

I am also launching a monthly newsletter list, and I would love to have you all join. My goal is to send out an exclusive short story, creative non-fiction essay, or packet of poems the first week of each month in 2015—if all goes well, and you know it won’t. Let’s see what happens, shall we? It’s content that will not be posted on the blog, and I can guarantee it will vary widely from month-to-month depending on the level of panic I reach under deadline. If you do sign up to watch the train wreck first hand, I will not share, sell, or trade your email address. It’s just so I can connect directly with readers. Also, I’m only sending out the one email a month, so I won’t be cluttering your inbox. If you read the first few stories/ emails and decide it’s not for you, please unsubscribe at any time.

The way to subscribe is to use the gray and white box over in the sidebar. Add your name (First name Last name) and your email address. Then click the button. It will send verification to your email (Check your junk box if you don’t see it right away). Once you click verify in the email, you will automatically receive an email from me containing the first short story, “The Accompanist.” When I made my sister test it, she had the story within a minute. (She said she liked it too, but I think that is just to dissuade me from beating her this week on our fitbit challenge.)

Thanks for all your support as I take the next steps with my writing. This step has sent me into panic mode a few times, but I try to do one big thing that scares me each year. I’ve got a few leaps to make this year—hope you’ll come along for the ride!
