I was scrolling through my phone photos recently and laughed at my collection of oddities caught around Okinawa.
Ski for your lives, Okinawan Snowmen! Or alternately, sit on the Goya benches and watch. {Scene in front of a new-used-outlet that opened down the street.} cultural note: Goya- a bitter melon that is popular here- the benches are the little green and white things that look like cut watermelon next to the building.
Nothing inspires healthy teeth more than….snails?
The main road on island is under construction daily- traffic has gone from moving at a swift 25 miles per hour to a maddening 5-15 miles per hour (NO, that is not a typo. Go drive legally through a school zone for an hour straight and you will get the idea.) The only respite is the adorable assortment of road blocks like this one:
I found a place with tax-free witchcraft…FINALLY.
And finally, please use the toilet finely. With your music. And your vacuum. Okinawa, I love you.
