This post is a complete mishmash of randomness– sorry. A couple weeks ago I described the outfit Mem wore to register for middle school. Can you picture it in your mind? I was able to get it out of my iPhone.

See, I was NOT exaggerating. By the way, apparently that leopard-print bow is now her power-bow because she wears it with everything. Exhibit A: church Sunday

The bad news is that the mixed prints trend is going viral in the Weems’ household. This picture was taken after church Sunday. I have no idea what Mem and Jet are doing. Note Ransom’s stripes and plaid and Jet’s camo and stripes. (Camo is really a neutral though when you are 5, don’t you agree?)

In other news, Ransom and Memphis both injured their ankles running around the cul-de-sac in the last few weeks. Ransom rested his, iced it, and took ibuprofen. Memphis refuses to sit down, can only stand ice for 2 seconds, and has decided that a blue sparkly arm wrap is the answer. Her ‘ace bandage’ at church. (Never mind that it isn’t even on her ankle)

She declares nightly that her ankle feels worse and asks, “Why did Ransom’s heal so fast?”

Aside from taking pics of my kids in hideous clothes that were never intended to be worn together, I have taken a few pics from around the hood. Here is the view of the East China Sea from our commissary. Can you believe that water? So beautiful and calm– for now.

Typhoon Bolaven is headed our way, so picture that water grey and mad, swirling and foaming and you’ll get the idea of our view for the weekend.  Here’s what I did yesterday and today (well, I may have had a tiny bit of help):

Big Bessie Green (our huge, heavier-than-most-Japanese-cars trampoline) got flipped, strapped, and sandbagged for the first time in six years. I’m getting a little emotional just thinking about it. She has stood tall through wildfire evacuations, two hurricanes, four duty stations, and six Weems. Today, she’s down. Not taking any chances on her with a Category IV storm. Don’t worry–we’re ready–Carolina (our new pup) hasn’t made much progress house training, so we won’t have to worry about regression (or turning her into a kite trying to take her outside!) during the storm– we’re fully stocked up on paper towels and sanitizing wipes. We have sandbags, flashlights, a crank radio, all outdoor debris secured, food, water, gas in the cars (not that we could drive anywhere), and most importantly– we have Memphis’s leopard print power-bow AND blue sparkly ace bandage on our side. Bolaven…you best be-leavin’….
